"Moulin Rouge", the musical masterwork has stirred devotees worldwide. It's for sure a memorable film. If you're a fan of the movie, why not map your wedding around the "Moulin Rouge" theme? It’ll surely be a wedding no one will ever forget.

The Satine Influence

You can scrounge a page from Satine's book when choosing a wedding gown. Or if you don't appreciate the idea of wearing red for the wedding, keep the gown, but choose another shade, like Maggie Sottero's aptly-named Moulin Rouge-gown.

This form-fitting Victorian-epoch Satine-style gown is a real showstopper. The dress cots less than $400, so you can squeeze it into your wedding budget easily. As a substitute to wearing red, think dressing your bridesmaids in Satine-like gowns.

The Invitations

Thanks to the wonder of computers, it's easy to produce an invitation just bursting with Victorian-era style. Keep in mind; your main themes are "The Show Must Go On" and "Truth, Beauty, Freedom and Love." Use abundance of big red hearts.

A "Moulin Rouge" Reception

Start with a large, sparkly mirror ball. Your DJ should be able to lend a hand to you. See what he can do for creating that harshly wonderful green light to twang your night's entertainment.

Plan a menu consisting of French delicacies. Paste custom labels on champagne that comprise your wedding monogram and date... and announce the beverage to be "ABSINTHE." Stack excellence cigars in pyramids on the tables. You could even place a casino. There are infinite opportunities for tailored and charming wedding favors to match your movie theme.

One of the most excellent parts of Moulin Rouge is the remarkable music. Employ a band with a female and male vocalist who can remake some of the heart-stopping quixotic and romantic duets and love songs from the film, like "Your Song" and "Come What May." Or just purchase the soundtrack and keep it thrusting all night long. And if you've got the financial plan for it, this is the time to appoint some dancers. Have them set the floor on fire with "Lady Marmalade", "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend," or just a rousing can-can.

Of course, with that entire dance, you won't desire to wait caught up in a fussy covering or gown and train when the music starts. Take your signal from pop star Pink and other fresh celebrity brides who changed into a sportier after-party collection when the ceremony ended.
